Grand Opening - Year 2011

Awesome! Another year gone and here's another beginning again...
This year was very different from others. Usually I will be chilling or hanging out somewhere during this time of the year.

So what was I doing on new year's eve night?
Good question with lame answers :P
1. Studying
2. Sleeping

First day of the year?
The first place I went right after I woke up was... The GYM...
Then, back to study mode again. Why la exams always during the first month? Heh...

Let's reflect back a bit...

1. Did more bible study.
2. Scored straight A's in A-Levels.
3. Worked as lecturer for 8 months plus. Wah! This one really whole loads of experience.
4. Increased athletic performance. Increased strength and power. (Especially for the past weeks in university) Kinda satisfied but still going on hardcore! Going on stronger this year!
5. Got my photoshooting done! Haha! And I just received my photos today. Thanks Keane :D
6. Started a new life in University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus.
7. Increased knowledge in fitness, health and nutrition. My passion! My long-term goal as a trainer :) Doing it small scale now. Hehe...

As for my resolution last year...

1.Triathlon
- Sprint Distance
- Olympic Distance
2. Half Marathon (21km)
3. Break Duathlon Record
4. 6-pack
5. Get Ripped

6. Learn to Swim Freestyle
7. Earn Scholarship
9. Work

Hmm... unable to accomplish the bigger ones but overall it's still alright. So might change and add more things for this year.

Term Break - Part 1

Heh... Guess I've been away for too long again. Quite hard to find a time to actually sit down and type out whatever I feel like. Yes I know the term break has begin but I’m still stuck with one last lab report. Quite lame right? Since I’m able to type this post, means I’ve done my report. Huhu! But exams will be coming in 2 weeks plus time and I’m yet to start from scratch.

So just a quick run through for the past weeks…

UNMC 10th Anniversary

The University of Nottingham, Malaysia Campus (UNMC) had its 10th anniversary yesterday which was on the 10/10/2o1o. Pretty nice date eh :)

So it was the end of the 2nd week, still not tuned back to my study mode but at least I'm trying. Well, at least I did try :P Things are getting tougher and complicated though.

Alright, back to the event. It wasn't that big or grand but I still think it was a good one.

Lots of games and food around

RIT Graduation 2010

So far, this would be the biggest event of the year for RIT. We're all glad that it's over! For the past few weeks, everyone was busy doing the preparation for the event. Well, not me who graduate since I've done it last year. As a college staff now... my part was being the helper. I'm in charge of transportation, flag bearer and PA. So basically need to be around throughout the whole thing.

PBC Duathlon 2010 #1

I had my first duathlon of the year last Saturday. Heh! Quite a good start actually. I did better than last year though it wasn't that impressive YET.

Race Statistics
1km Run = 4:55 mins
17km Cycle = 37:45 mins
5km Run = 31:04 mins
Overall = 1:13:44 hours
(Previous record = 1:18:05 hours)

The champion was an 'ang mo' who clocked a time of 55:24 mins. My time for the next is 1:10 hours and below. Well, still need lots of improvement on cycling and 5km run :) But I'll rather focus more on cycling first. Heh...

Participants

Road bikes.
Dreaming of having one :p

Too bad, my friend and I got to use mountain bike only.

Miri International Jazz Fest.

For the past few years, I didn't get the chance to go for this jazz festival. Hah! Wouldn't want to pay RM60 for this. Fortunately this year, I got a free ticket for Saturday night! So? Go la of course, see what is it all about. It was raining last night, so I didn't went that early. I went with John around 9pm.

Woah! The place crazy packed with so many people, lots of ang mo though. Personally, I'm not a fan of jazz since we seldom listen to it. For those who love jazz, love to drink, get drunk and dance around; would be a good place to go. I only managed to watch the group from Brazil, the violinist was awesome! First time seeing people play like that in front of my eyes.

Anyways, was kinda tired after that performance and didn't bother to stay on longer. So off we go!

Bye Bye Mr. Thomas

Ha! Once again, our country hope to win back the Thomas Cup after 18 years will be still a dream yet to come. We were defeated by the defending champion, China 3-0. Perhaps we can try again in 2 years time.

Are we actually that bad to even score a point for ourselves. So as I was watching the first two matches; which we put high hopes on. Our players seems to be not so consistent compared to the Chinese, much of errors and maybe due to lack of confidence. Our mental strength is still not there yet. Well, maybe just not as tough as the Chinese.

From our first men singles, clearly Lin Dan just outplayed LCW 21-17, 21-8. Previously, I would say LD is the best in offense and speed while LCW in defense. After watching this match, I would say LD has all three of them. Seems that he is able to tackle all kinds of shots. It's always hard for LCW to beat LD. In terms of speed, thumbs up to LD as you can see the score for the 2nd game!

As for the men doubles, China's Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng just played excellently! I enjoy watching the match. With their fast game speed, no doubt they are able to win us.

Looking forward to the finals tomorrow.
Hope there will be surprises for all of us :)

Happy Mother's Day

Proverbs 31:10 -31

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

And once again,
to all the mothers out there,
Happy Mother's Day!

Hiking Program

Hah! It's been quite sometime since I posted something. Well, nothing much happen nowadays and also quite busy doing stuff. So today the youth in my church went hiking at Canada Hill. Hehe... since it's the school break, better take them out for some outdoor activities. I woke up early in the morning and was in church around 6am+. Haih... Quite a bad day to start off since I didn't sleep well, so many mosquitoes. Ish...

So they were divided into few groups; I was leading one myself. We started off around 9am and my group finished 6 stations in 2 hours. Haha! Other groups exited much earlier because cannot tahan. Oh wells, thank God everything was good all the while.

Warming up

Let's go!

Finish. Everyone exhausted.
