21 Lessons/Things I Learned

A wonderful & blessed 21th birthday today.


Looking back from the beginning till now. Looking at my baby photo and as years passes I began to grow bigger and stronger till what I am today. I'm truly satisfied!

Argh!!!

So here are to top 20 things/lessons I learned. Looking forward to the next two decades, wondering what I'll get again.

1. Jesus Christ - the definition of love and the reason we live.

2. Love your God. Love your neighbour. Get them right, that’s it!

3. Trust and acknowledge God. He’s your only hope and will never forsake you.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” – Jeremiah 29:11-13

4. Cultivate the fruit of the Spirit.
“…the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control…” – Galatians 5:22-23

5. Love, Forgive and give Hope to others.
Don’t worry, it’s a lifetime process. There are plenty of opportunities.

6. Give and don't expect a return. I meant give with a cheerful heart :D

7. If you ain’t doing good to anybody, stop living =)
Don’t make people miserable and learn to shut up if you have nothing nice to say. Learn to tell someone how important they are and appreciate their presence in your life. Do not be weary in doing good, continue and there will be a time to reap the good harvest.

8. Life is full of choices, if you have the guts to go for it.
It is meant to be beautiful and colourful. Be the special breed of human being that choose to live the life to the fullest. You are the light that shine. Live the life and inspire others to live too. Keep fighting for your goals and inspire others to live their dreams.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” - Matthew 5:14-16



9. Action speaks louder than words.
Think before you speak, words cannot be taken back. You just got to fulfill after it is said. You know, trust has to be earned and you know the consequences if you lose it.

10. Max out 100% everyday, any reason to save?
You ain’t going to bed till you PAY YOUR DUES! Learn as much. Don’t pass each day without gaining anything. You got to live today better than yesterday, same goes for tomorrow.

11. Success? Make it happen, whatever it takes. Define clearly the purpose before you start anything. Decide, Plan, Do. BANG!
Work when everyone else is still sleeping and you'll be ahead. Hard work pays off! "The difference between the people doing it and the people not doing it, is that the people doing it are doing it." – Jim Smith

12. Know what you are doing and stay focused. Don’t give up easily and learn to be patient.
If everything is easy, everyone will be the same. Think the people who changed or contributed to the world such as Newton, Edison, Wright brothers, Einstein, Steve Jobs and you name it…

13. Stop worrying what people say/think about you. It’s not gonna get you anywhere.
Sometimes it just shows they’re weak and trying to bring someone down when they don’t succeed. We all know the saying… “Ah well, haters gonna hate anyways.” But then, do remember the 5th point.

14. Unleash the power of the subconscious mind.
Know your strength and weaknesses. Make full use of what you got. Think and speak positive. Your thoughts will eventually come into reality. Weaknesses can be converted into strength. Surround yourself with positive people that will bring you up. Visualize yourself on how you want to be. Smile and laugh often, you will look more like a optimistic person. Believe me, you will find strength when you need it.

World through your eyes.

15. Don’t see a weakness as it is, see it as an opportunity to take yourself one step higher.
Others will see your weaknesses better than yourself. Dare to receive critics or advices. If it’s right, +1. Otherwise, forget about it and move on… remember the 13th point. Humbleness is hard to learn. Ego, get a timeout once in a while :)

16. Stop making a fuss about everything, especially on what you don’t have.
Don’t be jealous of others, be motivated and inspired instead. Learn to appreciate and realise that you have more than you think. Reflect on the little things and know that you are truly blessed than many.

17. When you reached your goal, ask yourself again, ”what kind of person have I become?” It’s the character that is built in you that matters and will last. That is true success, being a jerk doesn’t count.

18. Bear necessity.
Simplicity, less is sometimes more. You don’t need everything to live, filter out the trash and nonsense.

19. Fitness is a lifetime commitment, divorce is not an option. It’s more than a hobby, it’s a lifestyle. Train like there is no finish line. Been there, done that with no regrets.

20. Squat & Deadlift. The king of all exercises.
I don’t mean do it whenever you feel like. Do it all the time and go HEAVY. Master those if you’re serious about pumping iron, or else you will be never ready for the better. It’s more than just a physical activity but about building a character, developing mental toughness. Many say that they’re difficult. Exactly the point! If you can’t, you must! Life is about getting up when a heavy load brings you down. It’s all about the strength to overcome obstacles. Do that and be better in life.





21. Lastly, treasure your life as you only live once. Treasure each moment as it only happens once. Be thankful and grateful always.

Focus... Jin Kiat... Focus... Goals

Father, restore my soul as I start again. A new year; a new semester. Definitely gonna make it better than the last. Need to be more focused on my goals.


How's life?
Well, it's all great! Haha! With God everything great.
Being able to whack iron and pump max heart rate daily. What could be better?
People! Yes, many beautiful people around campus these days. Man... Everyday is a great day.
Friends are awesome too.


So a recap for the first week of Sem 2. Definitely a busier semester because finals are worth of 100 credits...out of 120. LOL! Pretty sweet :) The interesting thing is on the first day we are told we gonna have test on week 3. That's the last thing I wanna hear on my first day =.="
Will be having a test on Materials on week 3. I think is a good head start, at least to start the momentum to study.

I'm also having a different timetable and Mondays aren't that forgiving anyways. Haha! 8 hours of lectures straight from 9am - 6pm with 1 hour break in between. Woosh... a marathon! But at least rest of the week are good.

Training has been up but not as good compared to Miri though. We have good hills and stadium to train but not here. However, just got to be creative to make things out. Working out is awesome as I'm currently on strength training and bulking up a little. Powerlifting But I'm having a new routine coming soon :D

Weekly bible study has also started since last week. Haha! As usual, it's been great!

And finally, results of Sem 1 are out. Well, it's not my best but I think it's still alright. 84% for Engineering Maths 1 and 58% for Mechanics of Solids 1. Told ya I screwed up that paper. Hehe... Both modules are worth 10 credits each. But yeah, I got 100 credits to tackle this time. Better not screw up.

Blessed Christmas 2010

Heh... First time celebrating Christmas away from home. Not just that, I'm celebrating alone nowhere in the middle of Broga jungle. Hahaha! Anyways...


“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

It's not about presents, not about the Christmas tree, nor Santa Claus, rain deers, elves...blah~ and all the crap you see around. So yeah, don't expect presents in your socks or under the Christmas tree. Seriously don't know how did all these came into the picture. It's just out of topic. Hah! And it's not just an ordinary celebration.

It is the celebration of the birth of the Messiah who was promised to come! Because of Love, we received the greatest gift from God, the gift of eternal life for those who truly believe in Jesus. Through Him, we're saved and reconciled back to God. Thank you for the abundant blessings, the gift of peace and joy that we have and the hope that is secured. Your grace and mercy is sufficient for me each day :)

New Year 2010

Happy New Year!

This is it! 2009 ended and here is the new beginning. Many things happened in 2009 and I thank God for bringing me through. I believe I've learn quite a lot and ready to learn more this year. Some of the things were my first time too :)


So I was at church for new year eve's service. Good idea to start your new year with God.

Prepare to note forward without regret. Distress and sorrow will only keep you bound to the past. Now is the time to release everything that has caused you to mourn and as you deliberately let go, you will be released to rise up in the realm of My peace and joy.

I'll just have to smile over everything that happened and continue to trust and love Him.


9However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him" 10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.
(1 Corinthians 2:9-10)



This year I believe it will be an exciting year for me because many things are yet to come. As you know, I'm still not sure where I will be studying and so on. So I believe God will slowly unveil His plans for me to see. That just gonna be so amazing, full of surprises :) And yeah, I came out with a list at the side about the few things I wish to achieve/get this year. So, let's see how it goes.

My Happy 19th Birthday

Weee...I'm 19 today. Time flies by fast. Thank God for His grace and mercy, bringing me through this beautiful life of mine. Though I may be facing obstacles but He promised to be with me. Things may seems tough but in the end I'm still able to get through them.


Today I really had a great and happy day. First of all, I would like to thank all the birthday wishes. Haha! At least you guys still remember me. Not like some, I think all lupa kawan. Haha! Just kidding. Oh wells, doesn't matter:) When I woke up this morning, Sarah called and there goes my birthday song.

Me and my classmates went to McD for lunch. Haha! People chia me o, sure go makan banyak banyak la. I had 4 pieces of chicken and fries. Guess everyone knows food is enough to make me happy. Hehe.. Thanks guys!


So let's see what I got this time...

Our God, Our Creator

Decided to put this in a separate post. Hehe...

It all started...
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Later at night, I went for my youth meeting in church and we watched a video. *not enough time to watch finish.* It's by this Creation Astronony thingy. I think it's a great video since I'm also interested in this field of science:) It explains how evolutionary astronomy model has failed. This Volume 1 is about our solar system, about the characteristic of each planet. I bet many of you heard about all kinds of theory how the universe was formed and so on . This is just some evolution theory that tried to explain but failed.

But yeah, what do we actually know about astronomy? Again, I've read negative comments about this production. It doesn't really affect me though, I'm creationist and there must be a creator in the midst of us. Amen! Many today deny the existence of God and that's why they're coming up with all sorts of things to disprove God. People are still veiled and not able to see the radiance and glory of Him.

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
(2 Corinthians 3:18)



And again, I think sometimes people just misunderstood the term evolution. For example the theory by Charles Darwin, how much do you know about it? He never said humans evolved from monkeys! We interpret it based on our understanding which is limited and tend to exaggerate. My question is, can God create things through His own way of evolution? Well, we don't know but it can be possible right?

Creation and evolution doesn't contradict.

Happy Mother's Day

Oh, what a wonderful Sunday!

A good mother loves her family and provides an atmosphere where each member can find acceptance, security, and understanding. She is there when the children need a listening ear, a comforting word, a warm hug, or a loving touch on a fevered brow. And for the Christian mother, her greatest joy is in teaching her children to trust and to love Jesus as their Savior.

That kind of mother deserves to be honored—not just on one special day a year but every day. And that recognition should involve more than words; it ought to be shown in respect, thoughtfulness, and loving deeds.

Of all the earthly things God gives,
There’s one above all others:
It is the precious, priceless gift
Of loving Christian mothers.

Joyous Easter

A Blessed Easter
to everyone


What's so important about Easter?
It's important because it proved that Jesus was who He claimed to be. He was God in the flesh, and He came to earth to save us. Although we study the passion of Jesus, His death on the cross, Easter is a celebration of His resurrection: God brought Jesus back from the dead, proving He'd broken the power of sin and death.
It's a celebration of the fact that He is alive today!


Easter Means We're Released From Judgment
Jesus' death and resurrection release us from judgment.
"Those who...believe in Him...will not be judged" (John 5:24)
God is Love. If you put your trust in the love of Jesus Christ it's wiped out, "There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ" (Romans 8:1).



Easter Offers Us a Fresh Start
"Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life, and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven."
(1 Peter 1:3-4)


Several things happen once you give your life to Christ:
1. You open up your life to God and get to know Him.
2. You're given a brand-new life, which gives you everything to live for.
3. You get a future in heaven.

You get your past forgiven, you get a purpose for living, and you get a home in heaven. Your past, present, and future are taken care of as you put your trust in Jesus. A fresh start!

"Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ."
(1 Corinthians 1:30)


Easter Shows Us God's Amazing Love
"God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
(Romans 5:8)

God didn't just say He loved you, He showed it. Everything that Jesus did for you He did out of love. The Bible says that God made you to love you. The only reason you're alive is because you were made to be loved by God. God made you and wants you alive so He can love you and so you can love Him back.


"He will send down help from heaven to save me because of His love"
(Psalm 57:3)

That's what Jesus did on Easter. He sent down Himself from heaven to save us because of His love. So you bring your problems to God because He has the answer. If you don't act on this news then the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection is wasted for you personally. It makes no difference in your life.



"You will be saved, if you honestly say, 'Jesus is Lord,' and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death."
(Romans 10:9-10)

God is not asking you to make a promise you cannot keep.
God is asking you to believe a promise that only He can keep.

...Of what was done 2000 years ago, Salvation is free for us. Our sins are forgiven and therefore those who are in Him is a new creation. The old has gone and the new has come! Thank You Jesus!

The Perfect Armour

I was talking to my darling Sarah and she shared with me about Preparing for Spiritual Warfare. I find it interesting and important, so decided to blog it out. Haha! I'll make it simple as possible.

Before you go for war, what do you need? Weapons, armour, strategy...etc. And obviously good preparation , all these are essential things you need to take note of. Same goes for the spiritual battle but in that case, what type of weapon or armour we need? We can't use those 'physical weapons' isn't it? That's why God is there for us and prepare us with 'spiritual weapon'.


13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
(Ephesians 6:13-18)


The Shield of Faith
As end time is near, there will be false accusations and people turning against you. People will start to challenge your faith and manipulating you by false teachings. But as long your faith in God is strong, you will not be shaken! This is where faith will come in, a shield used to guard ourselves.

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."


The Breastplate of Righteousness
What is righteousness? For me, it is living according to God's will and be wise in whatever we're doing. In other words, it is by doing the things that are right in God's eyes. When you know certain things that are not good, stay away from it. The use of a breastplate is obviously to guard your heart. The heart is where all our feelings are and we're often act according to how we feel.


The Belt of Truth
Why is it the belt of Truth? You wear a belt so you can hold everything in place. Same goes for truth, it is something that holds everything together. The truth will set you free. For example, when you tell a lie, you will continue to tell another lie to cover up your first lie and it goes on and on. 

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
(John 8:32)


The Helmet of Salvation
Salvation is one of the best thing we could have. Jesus died for us on the cross, died for our sins and He took everything. That is why salvation is free for us. God is always a forgiving God and no matter what we do, His forgiveness is always there for us. The problem is we do not go to Him. It is also because of His grace and mercy on us that we're able to live until today.


The Sword of the Spirit
By defencing yourself from attacks is not good enough, eventually you will still fall. We can't just play a defensive game and not attacking at all. This sword is the Word of God, it will be our ultimate weapon. The Word of God is sharper than any double-edged sword and can penetrate even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.  We need to learn to use God's word as our weapon, so we need to be familiar with our Holy Bible. In what we're doing, God should be our guide.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

The Shoes of Peace
Wherever we go, we'll bring the peace of God with us. We should be the one standing when everything else fall because God gave us the peace. Always be ever ready to spread the gospel to others.


And finally, our communication is with God is equally important. For He will guide your footsteps, being equipped with weapons and armour won't be good enough if you have no direction. Through prayer, you will receive the power from God and Holy Spirit.
