Malaysia Into Finals

Out of all the events competed, finally we have a chance to grab at least silver medal. Malaysian shuttler, Lee Chong Wei enters steps into the final after defeating Korea's Lee Hyunil 21-18, 13-21, 21-13. Chong Wei controlled the game well in the first set. However, he did quite a number of mistakes in the second set that causes the losing factor. Chong Wei fired up again in the 3rd set, he was more aggressive and consistant and ended the game with a powerful cross-court smash.

It will be the country's fourth medal in history for the games. Malaysia last returned from the Olympics with honours in 1996 with a silver from the doubles pair of Cheah Soon Kit /Yap Kim Hock and a bronze from singles, Rashid Sidek. Chong Wei had broke a 12-year Olympic medal drought Malaysia has been facing. If he manages to win Malaysia's first ever Olympic gold, Chong Wei will pocket a whopping RM1 million or at least a RM300,000 for a silver.
