Olympic - Badminton Day 4

*Sigh* Today was a kinda disappointing day for me. For our badminton event, our veterans had to say goodbye. Our hopes left are men's singles Lee Chong Wei, doubles Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong and women's singles Wong Mew Choo to bring on the challenge in the Olympics.

As I predicted, Lee Chong Wei beat Navickas 21-5, 21-7. As for his quarter-final round, he will be playing against Indonesia's Sony Dwi Kuncoro on Thursday. Sony was the bronze medallist in Athens four years ago and I guess this would be a good challenge for Chong Wei.

Koo Kien Keat/Tan Boon Heong produced a masterful performace to beat Japan's Shintaro Ikeda-Shuichi Sakamoto 21-12, 21-16 to advance to the Beijing Olympics men's doubles quarter-finals today. The pairs will be playing against the 1st seed, Indonesia's Markis Kido/Hendra Setiawan tomorrow. This will be a great challenge for them. Let's hope they will be able to make it again.

However...
Wong Choong Hann was humbled by Taiwanese Hsieh Yu Hsing 21-14, 17-21, 18-21 while Choong Tan Fook/Lee Wan Wah lost 22-20, 13-21, 16-21 to Korea's Lee Jae Jin/Hwang Ji Man.
Choong Hann did well in his first game but somehow the Taiwanese managed to pick up in the second and third game. I'm actually quite happy for Choong Hann because he had tried his best until the end.
As for the doubles pair, I don't really know what's going on with them. Maybe the Koreans are damn good this time. I personally think that they started playing too late, about 11pm. By then, I don't think the players will be fully awake and able to concentrate on their game. Anyways, it's time to move on. Let's hope the best for them!

So Choong Tan Fook and Zhang Jiewen had lost, it's time for them to prepare for their wedding. All the best! LOL!

Good Night!
