Blessed Christmas 2010

Heh... First time celebrating Christmas away from home. Not just that, I'm celebrating alone nowhere in the middle of Broga jungle. Hahaha! Anyways...


“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).

It's not about presents, not about the Christmas tree, nor Santa Claus, rain deers, elves...blah~ and all the crap you see around. So yeah, don't expect presents in your socks or under the Christmas tree. Seriously don't know how did all these came into the picture. It's just out of topic. Hah! And it's not just an ordinary celebration.

It is the celebration of the birth of the Messiah who was promised to come! Because of Love, we received the greatest gift from God, the gift of eternal life for those who truly believe in Jesus. Through Him, we're saved and reconciled back to God. Thank you for the abundant blessings, the gift of peace and joy that we have and the hope that is secured. Your grace and mercy is sufficient for me each day :)

Rainbow



12 And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:

13 I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth.

Our God, Our Creator

Decided to put this in a separate post. Hehe...

It all started...
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Later at night, I went for my youth meeting in church and we watched a video. *not enough time to watch finish.* It's by this Creation Astronony thingy. I think it's a great video since I'm also interested in this field of science:) It explains how evolutionary astronomy model has failed. This Volume 1 is about our solar system, about the characteristic of each planet. I bet many of you heard about all kinds of theory how the universe was formed and so on . This is just some evolution theory that tried to explain but failed.

But yeah, what do we actually know about astronomy? Again, I've read negative comments about this production. It doesn't really affect me though, I'm creationist and there must be a creator in the midst of us. Amen! Many today deny the existence of God and that's why they're coming up with all sorts of things to disprove God. People are still veiled and not able to see the radiance and glory of Him.

And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
(2 Corinthians 3:18)



And again, I think sometimes people just misunderstood the term evolution. For example the theory by Charles Darwin, how much do you know about it? He never said humans evolved from monkeys! We interpret it based on our understanding which is limited and tend to exaggerate. My question is, can God create things through His own way of evolution? Well, we don't know but it can be possible right?

Creation and evolution doesn't contradict.

It's Just Not Fair!

This video is really touching, I would recommend all of you to watch. After watching, I actually gave some thoughts about it...





No matter what...
It's happening!


How could it be? Fair?
On one side of the world we see the extremely rich, and the other side we see the extremely poor. What a great imbalance! There's something really wrong in our world today and something needs to be done. Of all these, it will have to cost us something. Money alone won't solve the problem. No matter how much money is invested, all these will still be there.


Reflecting on myself...
Really thank God that I'm so fortunate compared to a lot of people on earth. Though I'm not that rich but I already have everything I needed. A loving family, a home, clothes to wear, food to eat, water to drink, a bed to sleep, a computer to use and many more. There are so many things I have today. And not to forget the true peace and happiness from God:)


We complain about the same food we eat everyday whereas someone out there is just digging leftovers.
We have sufficient water whereas some places are dried out.
We put on branded clothes whereas someone out there is just putting on an old cloth.
We complain about our homes whereas someone out there is lost without a shelter.
We're enjoying all the fun in this world whereas someone out there is being abused.
We can sleep comfortably on our bed every night whereas someone out there may be worried about a bomb falling on them.
We complain about the car we drive whereas someone out there has to walk.
We aren't aware about the good health we have whereas someone out there is dying of sickness.
We make a fool of what we have whereas someone out there wants to have a better lifestyle.
We complain about our parents whereas some kids out there is crying for a loving parent.
We complain about going to school whereas someone out there is looking hard for education.


There many things isn't it?
So before you start saying something, please think about it a second time.


Each day, we're able to wake up to see the sunrise and feel the morning breeze. That's already a blessing from God. Many people are less fortunate than you are!



Think about it.

What IF one day all these blessings are taken away from us?

Happy Mother's Day

Oh, what a wonderful Sunday!

A good mother loves her family and provides an atmosphere where each member can find acceptance, security, and understanding. She is there when the children need a listening ear, a comforting word, a warm hug, or a loving touch on a fevered brow. And for the Christian mother, her greatest joy is in teaching her children to trust and to love Jesus as their Savior.

That kind of mother deserves to be honored—not just on one special day a year but every day. And that recognition should involve more than words; it ought to be shown in respect, thoughtfulness, and loving deeds.

Of all the earthly things God gives,
There’s one above all others:
It is the precious, priceless gift
Of loving Christian mothers.



And for the kids...

Joyous Easter

A Blessed Easter
to everyone


What's so important about Easter?
It's important because it proved that Jesus was who He claimed to be. He was God in the flesh, and He came to earth to save us. Although we study the passion of Jesus, His death on the cross, Easter is a celebration of His resurrection: God brought Jesus back from the dead, proving He'd broken the power of sin and death.
It's a celebration of the fact that He is alive today!


Easter Means We're Released From Judgment
Jesus' death and resurrection release us from judgment.
"Those who...believe in Him...will not be judged" (John 5:24)
God is Love. If you put your trust in the love of Jesus Christ it's wiped out, "There is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ" (Romans 8:1).



Easter Offers Us a Fresh Start
"Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we've been given a brand-new life, and have everything to live for, including a future in heaven."
(1 Peter 1:3-4)


Several things happen once you give your life to Christ:
1. You open up your life to God and get to know Him.
2. You're given a brand-new life, which gives you everything to live for.
3. You get a future in heaven.

You get your past forgiven, you get a purpose for living, and you get a home in heaven. Your past, present, and future are taken care of as you put your trust in Jesus. A fresh start!

"Everything that we have—right thinking and right living, a clean slate and a fresh start—comes from God by way of Jesus Christ."
(1 Corinthians 1:30)


Easter Shows Us God's Amazing Love
"God showed His great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners."
(Romans 5:8)

God didn't just say He loved you, He showed it. Everything that Jesus did for you He did out of love. The Bible says that God made you to love you. The only reason you're alive is because you were made to be loved by God. God made you and wants you alive so He can love you and so you can love Him back.


"He will send down help from heaven to save me because of His love"
(Psalm 57:3)

That's what Jesus did on Easter. He sent down Himself from heaven to save us because of His love. So you bring your problems to God because He has the answer. If you don't act on this news then the death of Jesus Christ and His resurrection is wasted for you personally. It makes no difference in your life.



"You will be saved, if you honestly say, 'Jesus is Lord,' and if you believe with all your heart that God raised Him from death."
(Romans 10:9-10)

God is not asking you to make a promise you cannot keep.
God is asking you to believe a promise that only He can keep.

...Of what was done 2000 years ago, Salvation is free for us. Our sins are forgiven and therefore those who are in Him is a new creation. The old has gone and the new has come! Thank You Jesus!

The Perfect Armour

I was talking to my darling Sarah and she shared with me about Preparing for Spiritual Warfare. I find it interesting and important, so decided to blog it out. Haha! I'll make it simple as possible.

Before you go for war, what do you need? Weapons, armour, strategy...etc. And obviously good preparation , all these are essential things you need to take note of. Same goes for the spiritual battle but in that case, what type of weapon or armour we need? We can't use those 'physical weapons' isn't it? That's why God is there for us and prepare us with 'spiritual weapon'.


13Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
(Ephesians 6:13-18)


The Shield of Faith
As end time is near, there will be false accusations and people turning against you. People will start to challenge your faith and manipulating you by false teachings. But as long your faith in God is strong, you will not be shaken! This is where faith will come in, a shield used to guard ourselves.

"Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."


The Breastplate of Righteousness
What is righteousness? For me, it is living according to God's will and be wise in whatever we're doing. In other words, it is by doing the things that are right in God's eyes. When you know certain things that are not good, stay away from it. The use of a breastplate is obviously to guard your heart. The heart is where all our feelings are and we're often act according to how we feel.


The Belt of Truth
Why is it the belt of Truth? You wear a belt so you can hold everything in place. Same goes for truth, it is something that holds everything together. The truth will set you free. For example, when you tell a lie, you will continue to tell another lie to cover up your first lie and it goes on and on. 

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."
(John 8:32)


The Helmet of Salvation
Salvation is one of the best thing we could have. Jesus died for us on the cross, died for our sins and He took everything. That is why salvation is free for us. God is always a forgiving God and no matter what we do, His forgiveness is always there for us. The problem is we do not go to Him. It is also because of His grace and mercy on us that we're able to live until today.


The Sword of the Spirit
By defencing yourself from attacks is not good enough, eventually you will still fall. We can't just play a defensive game and not attacking at all. This sword is the Word of God, it will be our ultimate weapon. The Word of God is sharper than any double-edged sword and can penetrate even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow.  We need to learn to use God's word as our weapon, so we need to be familiar with our Holy Bible. In what we're doing, God should be our guide.

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight. 
(Proverbs 3:5-6)


The Shoes of Peace
Wherever we go, we'll bring the peace of God with us. We should be the one standing when everything else fall because God gave us the peace. Always be ever ready to spread the gospel to others.


And finally, our communication is with God is equally important. For He will guide your footsteps, being equipped with weapons and armour won't be good enough if you have no direction. Through prayer, you will receive the power from God and Holy Spirit.

The Search For Peace

"And the peace of God,
which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
(Philippians 4:7)



Amen.

It's the peace of God that I really need in me now. Recently, lots of stuff have been playing around in my mind. Good and Bad. For the good, thank God! For the bad, Lord please help me :)

The world we live in cannot offer peace. It offers poor options. Pleasure, power, and possessions are no substitute for peace of heart and mind. Nothing in this world can satisfy our needs. Trust in the Lord and He'll provide you with your needs. And yes, this is the peace that I really need now. I'm not able to bear everything alone, I'll collapse without God. The world is in a big mess, how can we able to stay calm without Him.


Peace-real peace-is found only in your relationship with Jesus.
Have you received His peace?


"Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!

Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Why Worry?


"Don’t worry about anything;
instead, pray about everything.
Tell God what you need,
and thank him for all he has done."
(Philippians 4:6)


As we all know school is starting soon and somehow I began to start worrying about some stuff. I began to worry about the decisions I've made because it would actually affect me throughout this year. This year I need to get serious with studies, at the same time with God. So yeah, many things going around in my head now.


“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today”
(Matthew 6:34)


But what do we get by worrying? By worrying, problems will not be solved. So I guess we shouldn't be worrying too much about our problems. Instead we should be spending more time praying rather than worrying. And yes, it is because God is interested in every detail of your life. Always thank God for everything and be grateful for the things He has done. Everything that happens is already planned by God.

The way we think will affect ourself, it determines the way we feel and the way we act. If our thinking is always on the negative side, I would say you'll have fun living a miserable life :)



When we no longer worry, when we pray about everything, when we give thanks, when we focus on the right things, the apostle Paul tells us the result is, “The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7 )

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!
Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas and a happy new year.


Everyone is celebrating Christmas. But do we actually know the true meaning of it? What are we celebrating for? Is it just a day we have fun gathering around and exchanging present?


“I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.”
(Luke 2:10)

Yes, Christmas is a celebration; a celebration for Jesus. It’s why we celebrate this day. Yet, we often leave the guest of honor out of our Christmas parties! Some people may feel that they have nothing to celebrate; they just want to get through it. But God, through his angel, tells us that embedded in Christmas is good news of such great joy that, if we believe it, we won’t be able to contain the celebration within us.

God’s good news is so much more than that!
The joy of Christmas is based on three things:
(1) God loves us
(2) God is with us
(3) God is for us

Through the birth of Jesus, God says, “I’m going to give you hope.” If you’re lonely this Christmas, let Jesus fill the void in your heart.
