Hot Spot

Had my dinner with my friend, Ansxn at Hot Spot last night. Haha! He is another enormous big eater and he has a BIG body size too. Since it was his treat, we decided to eat until FULL! Yeah, when we say full, means it will be really FULL!

So we started off with a bowl of salad.

Then I had this special chicken chop,

and plate of beef spaghetti,

and also a mushroom omelet.

The scary thing is we finished in less than 30 minutes.
Haha! Just realised we can eat that fast.

As for desserts, we went to Desserts for ice-cream and I had a Nutti Coco.

So we spent most of the time hanging out there, more than 2 hours; chit-chat about all kinds of stuff. And the fact is, we weren't that full yet but it was kinda late so decided to just go home sleep. So wasn't that satisfied yet. Haha! We'll try more next time!

Too much money and no where to spend?
Give me a treat then!
Hah!

5 Months

Five months passed by...

This week is the final exam for my students before they finish their course and which means I've gained 5 months of working experience with college students. So 13 of them finished their last paper on Friday. I've finished my teaching for them, now it's just the marking of the papers to determine whether they are able to continue on or not.

Obviously they are bunch of naughty, lazy, playful, talkative and (whatever words to describe them) type of students. Sometimes it's hard to handle them especially when they're restless. Our age difference are close, maybe 1 or 2 years older or younger; so it's not that hard to get along with them. Nevertheless, it's a pleasure to teach. Hehe... teaching short-term still OK la but never thought of being a teacher in the future.

After the last paper, we decided to have a photo session in class. Not all are present though :p

(Aska, Kevin, Tuang Tong, Alex, Ivan, Phoon, Cheng Loon)
(Aaron, ME, Qaliesha)

Sometimes crazy as this.
Trust me, they can be WORSE during class.

At the end,
I got the chance to test drive the Mini Cooper!
Though small but POWERFUL!

Miri International Jazz Fest.

For the past few years, I didn't get the chance to go for this jazz festival. Hah! Wouldn't want to pay RM60 for this. Fortunately this year, I got a free ticket for Saturday night! So? Go la of course, see what is it all about. It was raining last night, so I didn't went that early. I went with John around 9pm.

Woah! The place crazy packed with so many people, lots of ang mo though. Personally, I'm not a fan of jazz since we seldom listen to it. For those who love jazz, love to drink, get drunk and dance around; would be a good place to go. I only managed to watch the group from Brazil, the violinist was awesome! First time seeing people play like that in front of my eyes.

Anyways, was kinda tired after that performance and didn't bother to stay on longer. So off we go!

Bye Bye Mr. Thomas

Ha! Once again, our country hope to win back the Thomas Cup after 18 years will be still a dream yet to come. We were defeated by the defending champion, China 3-0. Perhaps we can try again in 2 years time.

Are we actually that bad to even score a point for ourselves. So as I was watching the first two matches; which we put high hopes on. Our players seems to be not so consistent compared to the Chinese, much of errors and maybe due to lack of confidence. Our mental strength is still not there yet. Well, maybe just not as tough as the Chinese.

From our first men singles, clearly Lin Dan just outplayed LCW 21-17, 21-8. Previously, I would say LD is the best in offense and speed while LCW in defense. After watching this match, I would say LD has all three of them. Seems that he is able to tackle all kinds of shots. It's always hard for LCW to beat LD. In terms of speed, thumbs up to LD as you can see the score for the 2nd game!

As for the men doubles, China's Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng just played excellently! I enjoy watching the match. With their fast game speed, no doubt they are able to win us.

Looking forward to the finals tomorrow.
Hope there will be surprises for all of us :)

Happy Mother's Day

Proverbs 31:10 -31

Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character

10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.

18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.

19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.

20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.

21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.

22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.

23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.

24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.

25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.

26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.

27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:

29 "Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all."

30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.

31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

And once again,
to all the mothers out there,
Happy Mother's Day!

Marina Bay

Two days ago, I went to the seafood restaurant with my college principal at Marina Bay. It's my first time eating there though. At that time, the place was empty; guess not many people goes there for lunch. It's really a nice place to chill since it's just at the sea side. Sitting outside, enjoying the wind from the open sea. Refreshing! But it would be better if the weather was cooler. Aih... Don't know why Miri hot like crazy. Thanks to our beloved sun and global warming. Haha! Can kena BBQ anytime.

So we order two regular pizzas. Since I'm still able to produce my student card, so we got the 50% discount. Catching eh? Well, only for selected dishes and happens during lunch hour only. Other than that, quite costly especially the seafood. Each pizza cost RM15, not too bad la. Altogether 16 slices and I think I ate 11 slices. Wahaha! So happy!
